Baker Island

This island is just a tiny, about 1,4 kmē small, uninhabited piece of earth. Nevertheless it emerges up to 8 m above sea level.

Until 1891, like many other pacific islands, also Baker Island was mined for guano.

The island is home for only a small number of native plant species.
