Motu Motiro Hiva

| Motu Motiro Hiva This almost unknown, only ca. 150 m sq small island is officially named Isla Salas y Gómez. It is located about 415 km easterly of Rapa Nui and was occasionally used by the inhabitans of Rapa Nui to collect eggs of seabrids. It is therefore counted here by its polynesian name. At this time only four landplant species are known from this island, only one of them, a fern, is known to me at least by its generic name. |
