Akamaru

Akamaru has a size of 2,1 km sq and ist therefore the third largest island in the Gambier group. On its highest point the island rises 247 m above the sea level.

In the north, directly offshore Akamaru, lies the small Mekiro island, in the south west the even smaller Makapu islet, two other tiny islets, Atumata and Teohootepohatu, lay southeasterly resp. easterly of Akamaru.
