On its highest point the island rises 247 m above the sea level. In the north, directly offshore Akamaru, lies the small Mekiro island, in the south west the even smaller Makapu islet, two other tiny islets, Atumata and Teohootepohatu, lay southeasterly resp. easterly of Akamaru. |
