Motutunga

In the north east corner of the atoll lies the largest, richly vegetated motu of the Motutunga atoll, the norther edge in contrast is formed by smaller, often very deserted islets.

In the north west lies the second largest of the atoll's motus, as well as the only passge from the open ocean into the lagoon, which nevertheless has an size of 126 kmē
.

The easter as well as the western part of the atoll consists of only a few, tiny and mostly deserted motus, whereas the southern edge of the atoll is completely drowned below the sea surface.
