| Niulakita Niulakita is the southernmost and also the smallest island in the Tuvalu Archipelago. It is about 900 m long, 500 m wide and has an area of only about 420 m sq. Some pools in the island's eastern part represent the last remains of the fomer lagoon. Only recently the Buff-banded Rail (Gallirallus philippensis sethsmithii) has colonised Niulakita coming from the Fiji Islands. |
